We see and understand things not as they are but as we are

Human beliefs are always influenced by the culture and environment where they have grown. This has created different ways of understanding life reflected in two big civilizations, Eastern and Western that live in the same world and are exposed to the practically the same environment but have developed different beliefs, religions, philosophies and habits due to this division.
There is a certain group of philosophers called Sophists who said there was no real truth, that the truth was a agreement between human beings, that’s why we can never know what is the real truth and that’s also why there are many different points of view and ideologies between each hemisphere and why every people have their own point of view. That’s also why we can’t understand things as they are, because people don’t really know what is true or not, we just make our own version of reality and compete with the version of another person and we enter a giant vicious circle where there is no solution, just a bunch of lies that humans have created.
For example, In Japan, they consider inappropriate to shake hands or to greet in any way where there is physical contact, they see it as an outrage to their intimacy, that’s why they have the tradition to bow. Meanwhile in eastern civilization shaking hands is the most common way to greet and it’s all because it’s the way we have been raised. The culture defines the way a person acts and also the ideologies they follow. For a person who lives in Japan who is also used to take a bow as a way to say hi and goes to the United States, he would feel uncomfortable with this place because that is just the way they are and no one can tell them what to do or think. The point is that both cultures are different and they can’t go together, that way with the Japanese people feeling uncomfortable they don’t understand things as they are for the other half of the world but as they are.
Also, on one side, for Muslims it’s all right to have many wives, it is their tradition and people approve this because their holy book says so, the Koran. On the other hand, people in the western civilization who are mainly Catholic can only have one wife and people there sees the Muslim culture as inappropriate and as an insult to Muslim woman. These differences between both sides of the ocean have also created many fights, especially between the Catholic and the Muslim religions. Muslim’s have a very strong policy against people who don’t believe in their religion or as they call them infidels, that’s why there are some extremist Islamic religion groups who fight against people of other religion. Nothing can change this because once you believe in something it sticks to you and nothing can stick it out again. These extremists consider every aspect of any other religion bad therefore they attack them with terrorism.

In conclusion, we will never know how things really are so we create our own version. Reality is hidden from humans but even though we knew how things really are nothing would change. In what way would the human race change if we knew how the universe was really created?. We are happy living our little lie we like to call life, because we just go with the flow and just live our life’s without caring for the truth.
